The Maybelline Great Lash mascara in blue is a fun pop of color to add to your daily look. You can pile it on for a more vivid blue, or you can keep it subtle. I found that swiping it over my normal black mascara gave my look just a hint of blue that was still work appropriate and yet fun.
Now, my opinion of Great Lash has never been the highest. In high school I think most of my friends used it. By college I had moved on to other mascaras, but my friends stuck with Great Lash. From what I can tell, this is still a hugely popular mascara. But I hate the brush. I’ve never liked it. I’ve tried this blue version on top of my favorite black mascara, and I can definitely wear it that way, but to wear it alone, it’s not the blue that turns me off, it’s the brush.
The eyeliner that was sent with the mascara was surprisingly good. I liked it more than I expected considering I’m not a huge fan of Great Lash. It glides on nicely, stays put, and comes off easily.
Final verdict: If you already like Great Lash, this is perfect for you! The blue adds a fun pop of color that is buildable, or you can keep subtle. But if you don’t like Great Lash already, then this probably isn’t for you.
***I was sent the Maybelline Great Lash Royal Blue VoxBox free for testing and review purposes.
Last month I received the Bloom Voxbox from Influenster, and it had what has become one of my favorite products inside!
My latest obsession has been face oils, and I was sent the Nuxe Huile dry oil.The fragrance is pretty heavy, but it doesn’t stay long. I do love how quickly it absorbs, so if you have oily skin, I don’t think this would be a bad product for you.
Inside was a nail polish from Sinful Colors, and while the shade I got, a beautiful glittery blue, was too sheer to be work alone, it works well over other colors.
What good would a polish be without a remover? The Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover Pads worked well enough that one pad took off both hands, and most of one of my toes.
A travel size stick of Secret Outlast Xtend Invisible Solid was stolen by my daughter, but luckily I know it’s a good product since that’s the one I use now!
The Not Your Mother’s brand has been a surprise find for me. I bought the beach spray for my hair at Target for about $4, and it’s amazing! So finding a mini bottle of the Not Your Mother’s Plump For Joy hair thickener was a fun treat!
And speaking of treats, I think every vox box I’ve ever gotten has had a treat. This one had a Sunbelt Bakery Granola Bar, and I ate every bite!
Hi Bookish Babes!
I have a nifty little badge to the right that says Influenster. In case you haven’t heard of Influenster, here’s a quick run-down.
Basically you keep active on the site, and it opens you up to receive Vox Boxes. They try to tailor the campaign to your interests, so the more active you are on the site, the more badges you unlock, the more they know what you like! I’ve received some pretty sweet Vox Boxes, one even came with chocolate! And if you go back a couple posts, there was an amazing Mary Kay Vox Box that I reviewed here.
Head on over to www.influenster.com and check it out!
The Influenster program chose me to send a Mary Kay Vox Box to! Hooray! In my Mary Kay box I got some amazing products, and you know, they were really good quality products. I haven’t bought Mary Kay in years. I’d forgotten how much I like the products.
In the box of amazingness, I got
a powder brush
cream eyeshadow in Apricot
Mineral Cheek Color Blush
sheer mineral powder
Lip gloss in Mango Tango
I’ve been using these products all month now, and lemme tell ya, the Mary Kay Spring/Summer products are ones to watch for! With beautiful golds for the eyes and bright mango lips, you can’t go wrong!
